If you want to become a computer engineer, you can start by attending an engineering school in Tennessee. There are seven schools that can help you reach your goal. The American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee awards scholarships to selected students every school year. The Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners also awards scholarships on an annual basis, ranging in value from $2000 to $4000.
After you have graduated from your engineering program, you can apply for your license through the Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners. Before you are awarded your license, you must pass the NCEES-administered Fundamentals of Engineering exam. Then, you can fill out your application and send it to the board. As soon as you receive your license in the mail, you can begin working.
