Connecticut Computer Engineering Schools

If you want to become a computer engineer, there are 11 schools in Connecticut that you can consider attending. If you want to earn an undergraduate degree, there are eight schools with Associate’s degree programs and Bachelor’s degree programs. There are eight schools with Master’s-level programs and six that award Ph.D. degrees.

Earning an Associate’s degree in computer engineering requires the completion of 60 credits, which you should be able to complete in about two years. A Bachelor’s degree offers a more thorough engineering education because it requires 120 credits. You may be able to complete a Bachelor’s degree in four to five years. Some of the courses you may take for either of these degrees include Introduction to Data Structure, Digital Systems Design, and Network Analysis.

If you would like to research or teach computer engineering, a Master’s degree or Ph.D. may be the right choice for you. You have to complete 30 credits to earn a Master’s degree, which you should be able to complete in about two years. A Ph.D. takes an average of seven years, as you have to write and defend a thesis.

In order to work as an engineer in Connecticut, you must get your license from the State Board for Professional Engineers. There is a required proficiency exam, which is offered four times per year. If you successfully pass your exam, you can then apply for licensure. Once your application is approved, you can receive your license in the mail in about four weeks.
