There are seven Associate’s-level programs and nine Bachelor’s degree programs. Eight schools have Master’s degree programs and four schools award PhDs. The average cost of tuition is $20,400 per year.

Wondering what degree level is right for you? Start by looking at Bachelor’s degree programs. These programs prepare you for engineering licensure. You’ll be required to complete at least 120 credits, which takes most students between four and five years of full-time study. You may take courses like Kinematics of Mechanisms, Fuel Management Systems, and Applied Systems Integration.

In addition to your theory courses, you can plan on taking many practical lab courses. In these courses, you work directly with engineering materials to get a feel for how and why they work.

If you have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, you may be a good candidate for a Master’s degree or PhD program. These degrees take two and seven years, respectively. Your school may require you to take advanced courses like Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Battery Systems & Control, and Mechanical Vibrations.
